We went to Ireland a month ago to say bye to Rose's Mum and Dad. We had a great weekend and were blessed with gorgeous autumn weather. Good food and company complimented by runs and walks down Salthill Prom, Bearna and Maigh Cuilinn.
After that trip the pace began to quicken. Work deadlines began to climb to their inevitable crescendo as loose ends had to be tied up. Itineraries and removal quotes filled our dinnertime conversations. The final push involved getting our flat of two and a half years packed up and sent off to either Australia, Ireland or the Dogs Trust. Last goodbyes to friends and we're done.
There has been a strange feeling of 'float' over these first few days. We've been in Buenos Aires for 48 hours, staying in sleepy leafy Palermo. First thing we did when we arrived was go out for a huge lunch, enticed by the free salad bar. Since then we've been getting to know the city, finding our bearings in this huge grid system and finger-like metro system (more like Melbourne than London). Good food and sleep have been worth their weight in gold and keeping base habits going while we adjust to the un-busyness of the next few months is making it all the more enjoyable.
Buenos Aires, mucho gusto.
