Over the course of some lazy days around the city we took in some of the main sights.
The Palacio de Moneda was bombed during the military coup in 1973. Now the Plaza and Palace are a symbol of the rebirth and unification of Chile after the dictatorship was overthrown in 1990.
Cerro Santa Lucia lookout is not as high as Cerro San Cristobal. It has winding cobble streets and steps up to ornamental gardens and is much more a part of the city.
We sat here and read our books while sampling Mote con Huesillo, a Chilean drink that contains peaches and wheat husks. Very sweet and very tasty!
